A transdisciplinary project between the University of Manchester and Pani Haq Samiti in Mumbai. Funded by the University of Manchester's ESRC IAA and the University's GCRF allocation.
This project develops an app that tracks how applications for water connections pass through Mumbai’s complex bureaucratic system. It is the first attempt to use digital technology for the purpose of identifying and removing roadblocks in the approval process. It contributes to the provision of safe water to tens of thousands of marginalised urban dwellers. In Mumbai, we work closely with community activist group Pani Haq Samiti (PHS).
